Eastern Naval Command Hosts NES Conference 2025

The Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam successfully hosted the Navy Education Society (NES) Conference 2025 from 10 to 13 November , bringing together senior naval officers, education specialists and administrators from Naval Schools across India. The annual conference served as a high-level platform to refine policies, strengthen academic systems and accelerate reforms aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 .

Committee Sessions and Nationwide Participation

The event included key meetings of the Executive Committee (EC) , Management Advisory Committee (MAC) and Academic Advisory Committee (AAC) . Participants from Naval Headquarters and various Naval Schools deliberated on institutional challenges, best practices and strategies to improve quality, uniformity and operational efficiency across the naval education network.

Leadership Inputs and NEP 2020 Alignment

Vice Admiral CR Praveen Nair , who chaired the Executive Committee meeting, emphasised the importance of standardised practices to ensure equitable learning environments. He reviewed ongoing NEP-linked reforms, highlighting improvements in digital infrastructure, teacher capacity-building and curriculum restructuring. Commodore SM Urooj Athar chaired the MAC and AAC meetings, setting the operational direction for academic planning and school governance.

Inclusivity and Innovation in Naval Schools

A major highlight of this year’s conference was the first-time participation of Sankalp Schools , institutions catering to children with special needs. Their inclusion reflects NES’ expanding commitment to inclusive, child-centred education. Delegates also explored innovative pedagogical approaches and collaborative models to position Naval Schools as centres of excellence in holistic education.

Vision for the Future

The Chairperson unveiled revised Vision and Mission Statements of NES, aligning them with national educational priorities and emerging global standards. Academic Awards for 2024–25 were presented, and delegates visited Navy Children Schools in Visakhapatnam to review ongoing developmental projects aimed at strengthening the naval education ecosystem for the future.
