PM Modi to Launch South India Natural Farming Summit in Coimbatore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the South India Natural Farming Summit on November 19 at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore, marking a significant national push toward climate-resilient and nature-positive agriculture. The summit brings together scientists, policymakers, innovators and farmer groups to accelerate the adoption of sustainable farming methods across southern India.

Summit Vision and Core Themes

The three-day summit aims to mainstream natural farming practices that enhance soil fertility, improve water efficiency and reduce reliance on synthetic fertilisers. Sessions will focus on bio-inputs, crop diversification, soil regeneration, and region-specific sustainable farming models tailored to Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Organisers emphasise the growing importance of chemical-free agriculture amid rising environmental and economic concerns.

Prime Minister’s Participation

PM Modi will address the gathering and hold an interaction with 50 leading scientists working in natural, organic and regenerative agriculture. His brief visit includes a detailed review of national-level initiatives that promote farmer welfare through low-cost, high-efficiency cultivation systems. He is scheduled to arrive in Coimbatore around midday and depart for Delhi soon after the event’s inaugural proceedings.

Exhibitions, Demonstrations and Farmer Outreach

The summit features over 300 stalls displaying bio-fertilisers, microbial solutions, precision-farming tools and eco-friendly technologies.
