Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 and Brand Ambassador

1. Brand Ambassador:

  • Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla , recognized as the first Indian to reach the International Space Station (ISS), has been appointed the  brand ambassador  for the initiative.

2. About Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025:

  • It is billed as  India's largest-ever school hackathon .

  • Organized by:  The  Ministry of Education , in partnership with the  Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) ,  NITI Aayog , and  AICTE .

  • Launch Date:  September 23, 2025.

3. Scale and Participants:

  • Target:  To engage over  1 crore students  from  1.5 lakh schools  across India.

  • Eligibility:  Students from  Classes 6 to 12 .

4. Objective and Vision:

  • Goal:  To encourage students to  ideate, design, and build prototypes  that address real-world challenges.

  • The program aligns with the national vision of  Viksit Bharat @ 2047  and the principles of  Atmanirbhar Bharat  (self-reliance).

  • It supports the objectives of the  National Education Policy (NEP) 2020  by promoting  critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical learning .

5. Key Themes:
The initiative is guided by four national themes:

  • Atmanirbhar Bharat:  Developing self-reliant solutions.

  • Swadeshi:  Leveraging indigenous knowledge.

  • Vocal for Local:  Supporting local entrepreneurship.

  • Samriddhi:  Fostering sustainable prosperity.

6. Timeline:

  • The live event is scheduled for  October 13, 2025 .

  • Winners will be announced in  December 2025 .
