Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) is a programme introduced by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah in September 2025 to allow faster and safe immigration clearance to pre-verified Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.
Expansion
The programme was initially introduced in July 2024 at IGI Airport, Delhi and now includes such major airports as Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Ahmedabad and recently Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Kozhikode and Amritsar. It is proposed to implement FTI-TTP to 21 airports (such as future hubs as Navi Mumbai and Jewar).
Key Features
- Cleared within 30 seconds on automated e-Gates.
- Quickness and safety is guaranteed by biometric verification.
- The advantage of hassle free entry and exit is a great benefit to the OCI cardholders.
Registration
The travellers are registered via the official portal with the submission of documents and biometrics. Applications are also enrolled when a passport or OCI is issued to minimise repetition of formalities.
Impact
As the international traffic of the passengers is rapidly increased (8.12 crore in 2024), FTI-TTP will decrease the waiting time and enhance the traveling experience, as well as contribute to the rise of the Indian national aviation hub.
Significance
The program is based on similar fast-track programs across the globe such as the US Global Entry Programme, but adapted to the needs of Indians. It echoes the vision of speed, scale and scope by the government as a way of enhancing national security and modernising airport infrastructure.
