Centre Launches Rs 600 Crore Kapas Kranti Mission

 

  • The Government of India launched the ₹600 crore Kapas Kranti Mission to boost high-yield, long-staple cotton cultivation using modern agricultural practices and technology.
  • The mission seeks to replicate High-Density Plantation (HDP) methods from Maharashtra in Telangana to increase cotton productivity.

  • A new mobile application, “Kapas Kisan App” , will streamline cotton procurement , ensuring transparency, fair pricing , and reduced dependence on middlemen.
