On 17 September 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the largest-ever health outreach program the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA), exclusively targeting women and children in India. This campaign (through to 2 October 2025) will involve more than 10 lakh health camps in the country, which will deal with preventive health, early diagnosis, and awareness.
Targeted Women and Children Health.
SNSPA will also address health issues that can be ignored because of ignorance or inaccessibility. It focuses on early screening and treatment of anaemia, cancer, tuberculosis, diabetes, hypertension and sickle cell disease. The special focus is on the maternal, child, and teenage health including such domains as immunisation, nutrition, menstrual hygiene, or mental well-being. The campaign also promotes health lifestyles, such as physical activities, obesity control as well as voluntary blood donations.
Implementation and Reach
Health camps will be established at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres, District Hospitals and other government centres. Specialist services in the field of gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology, and psychiatry will be introduced with the help of the private hospitals, medical colleges, AIIMS, ESIC, and CGHS centres. At the grassroots, ASHAs, Anganwadi workers and youth volunteers will help in ensuring maximum participation by creating awareness in all communities.
Why It Matters
The program aims at making sure that mothers, daughters, and sisters do not encounter avoidable or curable diseases. It also pays specific attention to tribal women who are overly impacted by sickle cell anaemia. SNSPA free testing and treatment is likely to bring a life-changing difference in these communities.
Quality Review and Improvement on the Existing Programmes.
SNSPA is an addition to the already added schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana which has already benefited over 4.5 crore pregnant women and the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Mission which has screened more than 5 crore people. As well as with Ayushman Bharat cards, families will be offered the access to such financial security as advanced treatments.
A Collective Effort
The campaign is a genuine Jan Bhagidaari (people participation) effort that unites governments, the private hospitals, non-governmental organization and community groups. Volunteers and representatives of the general population are also playing a leading role in mobilising the families to go through health screenings.
With SNSPA, India is making a huge leap towards healthier women, stronger families and a more robust nation.
