A three-day Solar Renewable Energy Expo is drawing strong public interest at the ‘A’ Convention Centre in Vijayawada , highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s growing focus on clean and sustainable energy solutions. The expo, which began on December 20 , is being organised by the Andhra Pradesh Solar Energy Association and brings together industry players, policymakers, and consumers under one platform.

The expo features a wide range of stalls displaying the latest innovations in the renewable energy sector. Key exhibits include solar photovoltaic (PV) modules , power inverters , battery energy storage systems (BESS) , solar water pumps , electric vehicle (EV) chargers , power cables , switchgear , and advanced battery solutions . These technologies cater to residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial energy needs, reflecting the expanding scope of India’s solar ecosystem.

The inaugural session was attended by Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan and Kamalakar Babu , Chairperson and Managing Director of the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) . Speakers highlighted the role of renewable energy in achieving energy security, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting sustainable economic growth in the State.

Organisers noted that the enthusiastic public response is closely linked to awareness generated by flagship government schemes such as PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana , which provides subsidies for installing rooftop solar panels in residential households. The scheme has significantly increased demand for solar solutions, particularly among middle-class and urban consumers seeking to reduce electricity bills.

Adding prominence to the event, Odisha Governor Kambhampati Hari Babu is scheduled to visit the expo on Sunday. His visit underscores the regional and national importance of renewable energy promotion and inter-State cooperation in the clean energy transition.
