FSIB Suggests Ramakrishnan Chander as Director of LIC

1. Key Recommendation

  • Shri Ramakrishnan Chander has been recommended by the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) to be appointed as Managing Director (MD) of the Life insurance corporation of India (LIC).

2. Appointment Process

  • The FSIB recommendation is a very important step in the process of selection.
  • The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) will make the appointment.

3. About the Candidate

  • In June 2025 Shri Ramakrishnan Chander was appointed to the position of Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of LIC.

4. The Current Leadership Structure of LIC.

  • Other than the MD & CEO, the top management of LIC has four Managing Directors.
  • The existing management includes:
    • Shri R Doraiswamy: MD & CEO
    • Shri Dinesh Pant, Shri Ratnakar Patnaik and Shri Sat Pal Bhanoo: Other Managing Directors.
