The film equaled the record for the most wins at a single ceremony, clinching an impressive thirteen awards, a feat previously only achieved by  Gully Boy .

Laapataa Ladies  secured the top prizes for  Best Film  and  Best Director (Kiran Rao) . Its victory sweep included supporting actor wins for  Ravi Kishan  and  Chhaya Kadam .

Surprises in Acting Categories

The main acting categories delivered notable surprises and a tie:

  • Best Actor (Male)  was shared by  Abhishek Bachchan  ( I Want To Talk ) and  Kartik Aaryan  ( Chandu Champion ).

  • Best Actress  was awarded to  Alia Bhatt  for  Jigra .
