Senior Actor Satish Shah dies at age 74

 

  • Senior actor Satish Shah, who has a legendary sense of comic timing and memorable film and television performances, died on 25 October 2025 of kidney failure. He was 74. His death is the death of one of the most popular comedy icons in India.

  • Satish Shah started working in the 1970s and became popular with the cult movie Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983) where his character Commissioner D’Mello has been a legend. He also earned more recognition with his sitcom Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, in which he joined 55 episodes in which he took 55 different characters to his credit, a feat in Indian television.
