Western Air Command Holds Commanders’ Conference 2025 in New Delhi
The Western Air Command (WAC) of the Indian Air Force successfully conducted its two-day Commanders’ Conference in New Delhi , concluding on 28 November 2025 . This high-level annual review focused on operational preparedness, evolving threat domains, and the future technological roadmap for the country’s most critical air command.
Held under the theme “विकासशील सक्षम भारतीय वायु सेना” , the conference emphasised self-reliance, capability enhancement, innovation in combat doctrine, and strategic foresight for future air operations.
Chief of Air Staff Calls for Strength, Integrity & Excellence
Air Chief Marshal AP Singh , who presided over the event, was welcomed with a ceremonial Guard of Honour. In his address, he highlighted the importance of professional training, leadership grooming, welfare of air warriors, and psychological resilience. He reiterated that morale remains a force multiplier and urged all personnel to uphold the IAF’s values— Mission, Integrity, Excellence .
Focus on Operational Agility & Modernisation
Senior commanders, the Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan , and domain specialists conducted extensive reviews on threat landscapes and capability augmentation. The CDS stressed adaptability, tactical innovation, high readiness levels, and rapid response capability in contested airspace—particularly relevant to India’s western and northern borders, which fall under WAC’s responsibility.
Advancing Atmanirbharta & Emerging Technologies
A major part of the discussions centred around indigenous defence technology development . Principal Scientific Adviser Prof Ajay Kumar Sood emphasised sovereign aerospace capability, while DRDO DG (Aero) Dr K. Rajalakshmi Menon outlined progress in autonomous systems, airborne surveillance, and space-enabled ISR platforms , projected as future pillars of air warfare.
