National Affairs

  • The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) launched a nationwide Mascot Design Contest to find an official visual ambassador for Aadhaar .

  • The Government of India introduced the ₹600 crore Kapas Kranti Mission to boost long-staple cotton cultivation and improve productivity.

  • India and Brazil agreed to expand the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between New Delhi and MERCOSUR to enhance trade and investment.

  • NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) , in partnership with DP World , launched the ‘We Rise’ initiative under its Award to Reward (ATR) framework.

  • The Government of India introduced a major policy reform allowing private sector professionals to apply for top Public Sector Bank (PSB) roles, including MD of SBI .

  • State Bank of India (SBI) aims to increase its women’s workforce share to 30% within five years, up from the current 27%.

  • The Application Tracking System (ATS) was launched on the RBI website , allowing public users to submit and track applications to the central bank.

  • Tokenization was highlighted as the process of replacing card details with a unique alternate code (token) for secure transactions.
