Assam marked Armed Forces Flag Day 2025 with the launch of a new welfare initiative titled ‘Sainik Tujhe Salaam’ , a programme dedicated to recognising senior military veterans and strengthening long-term support for ex-servicemen and their families. The initiative, unveiled by the Governor at Lok Bhavan, Guwahati , reflects Assam’s continued commitment to honouring the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces.

District administrations and Zila Sainik Welfare Offices will carry out annual home visits to express gratitude, assess welfare requirements and ensure timely support. The initiative seeks to build a compassionate, structured engagement system for the veteran community.
