Hellfire Missile Fails to hit UFO in the US

Washington was shocked when the news that one of the US Hellfire missiles did not hit a UFO at Yemen was reported. This was revealed at a 2025 congressional hearing on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs). In October 2024 footage captured by an MQ-9 Reaper drone featured the missile appearing to hit a glowing orb before bouncing back without detonation or harm. The incident has triggered the urgent discussion of the American military potential and the character of UAPs.

Incident

In October 2024 MQ-9 Reaper monitored a bright ball off the coast of Yemen. The Hellfire missile hit but bounced off on fire. The orb was not destroyed, and it went on its way. Released in the Congress in a declassified version, the video provoked a vehement response among the legislators and analysts.

2012 UFO Testimony

During the same hearing, USAF veteran Dylan Borland related an experience he had in 2012 around Langley Air Force Base. He claimed to have witnessed a 100-foot triangular-shaped ship, with no sound, and shining lights and molten gold like surface. Following the incident, Borland claimed to have suffered statical electricity and overheating phones as well as claimed to have been sabotaged in his career.

Hellfire Missile Overview

  • A laser-guided air-to-ground missile is AGM-114 Hellfire, which was introduced in 1972.
  • They target tanks, helibases, helicopters and slow planes.
  • Specifications: 1.7 m in length, 45-48.5 kg in weight, Mach 1.3 speed, 7-11 km range.
  • The AGM-114R Hellfire Romeo is a multi-warhead missile, capable of launching the warheads out of UAVs such as the MQ-9 Reaper.

Significance

The missile failure with the UAP indicates something has gone wrong with the existing defence assumptions, that the object had developed defensive or evasive capabilities not currently available to technology. The case has led to increased demands to have UAP disclosed fully, and re-scientific inquiry.
