PM Modi to Inaugurate New Chhattisgarh Assembly Building

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly building in Naya Raipur on November 1, coinciding with the state’s 25th foundation day. The event will mark a key moment in Chhattisgarh’s silver jubilee celebrations and highlight its progress over the past 25 years.

A Modern Landmark in Naya Raipur

• Built at a cost of ₹324 crore, the new Assembly complex spans 52 acres in Sector 19 of Naya Raipur. It comprises three main sections — the Assembly House, Secretariat, and Central Hall — and includes solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and parking for over 700 vehicles. The facility is designed to serve both legislative and public functions efficiently.

Architecture Reflecting Tribal Heritage

• The building’s design blends Chhattisgarh’s tribal art with modern architecture. Bastar and Surguja art forms adorn the interiors, while the grand dome draws inspiration from local palace architecture. The complex also features a media lounge, art gallery, auditorium, and meeting halls.

Tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee

• A statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee stands at the entrance, honouring his role in the creation of Chhattisgarh in 2000. The new Assembly accommodates 120 legislators and symbolizes the state’s administrative and political growth.
