- First Combat Action: The Waziristan war against tribal forces was the initial combat action that the IAF was involved in and it displayed its ability and prowess to act courageously.

- There are grand celebrations on the day, the major one being in the Air Force Station in Hindan.
- The celebration consists of such important characteristics as:
- An aerial spectacular parade of different IAF planes.
- A flypast and a parade of various squadrons.
- The IAF strategic capabilities and technologies were on display.
- It is a commemoration of all the IAF personnel and their sacrifice and determination.
