Launched on December 9, the facility is designed to meet the digital and logistics needs of students, researchers, faculty members and university employees.

Bringing Modern Postal Services to Campus

Speaking at the event, AU Vice Chancellor G.P. Raja Sekhar highlighted the growing relevance of modern postal services in academic environments. He noted that the new facility would particularly benefit students working on research theses, project submissions and competitive exam applications. With faster turnaround times and digital-ready service counters, the post office is expected to streamline essential communication and documentation processes.

India Post’s Innovation Push

Postmaster General (Visakhapatnam) S.V. Jayasankar underlined India Post’s commitment to accessibility and technological upgradation. He encouraged students to explore the wide range of services—from speed post and parcel logistics to philately and financial products—now available right within the campus.

The Gen-Z themed design includes interactive service zones, modern interiors and digital support features tailored for youth engagement. Officials said the facility represents India Post’s broader vision of blending tradition with innovation to remain relevant in the era of digital communication.
