Swadesh Darshan 2.0: ₹146-Crore Bhoramdev Dham Corridor Gets Foundation Stone
In a major push towards heritage-led tourism and regional development , the foundation stone of the Bhoramdev Corridor Development Project was laid at Bhoramdev Dham in Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh. The initiative seeks to strengthen pilgrimage infrastructure while safeguarding the architectural and cultural heritage of one of the State’s most revered temple complexes.
Project Launch and Leadership
The foundation stone was jointly laid by Vishnu Deo Sai , Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat , Union Minister for Tourism and Culture. The ceremony highlighted close Centre–State coordination in leveraging tourism as a driver of inclusive economic growth and cultural preservation.
Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0 Framework
The project is being implemented under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0 , the revamped flagship programme of the Government of India for destination-based tourism development. With an estimated outlay of ₹146 crore , the Bhoramdev Corridor is designed on the lines of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor , integrating heritage conservation with modern amenities such as pedestrian pathways, visitor facilities, interpretation centres, and improved urban services. Swadesh Darshan 2.0 places special emphasis on sustainability, local community participation, and holistic destination management.
