Maharashtra has taken a major step towards technology-driven governance with the launch of MahaCrimeOS AI , an artificial intelligence platform developed jointly by the state government and Microsoft . MahaCrimeOS AI is designed to assist police in identifying, investigating and resolving cybercrime cases more efficiently. Officials stated that this significantly reduces investigation timelines and improves outcomes for victims of cyber fraud, identity theft and online scams.

Following initial success in 23 police stations , MahaCrimeOS AI is being scaled to nearly 1,100 police units across Maharashtra .
