Greenex Environmental Partners With Norway’s EPD Global

Greenex Environmental, a sustainability consultancy based in Pune, has announced a major partnership with Norway’s EPD Global to expand Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) services across India. The collaboration aims to support Indian manufacturers—especially MSMEs—in meeting rising global sustainability requirements and boosting their competitiveness in international markets.

MoU to Strengthen EPD Certification and Transparency

Under the signed memorandum of understanding, Greenex Environmental will perform detailed life-cycle impact assessments of products, while EPD Global will handle the publication of the final Environmental Product Declarations. This dual-channel approach blends Norwegian expertise in international certification with India’s technical assessment capabilities, ensuring that Indian manufacturers can access globally recognised, transparent environmental reporting at significantly lower cost.

Boost for MSMEs and Export-Oriented Industries

The partnership is expected to reduce the cost of obtaining EPD certification by almost 70% , making it far more affordable for small and medium enterprises. Sectors such as engineering goods, construction materials, metals, food processing and chemicals—where global buyers increasingly demand verified environmental credentials—stand to benefit the most. This will help Indian firms meet green procurement standards and enhance their presence in environmentally conscious export markets.

Supporting India’s Sustainability Transition

EPDs are becoming essential as countries tighten environmental norms. The collaboration aligns with India’s commitment to greener industrial practices and its long-term Net-Zero 2070 target. The initiative is also expected to create new opportunities for specialised jobs in sustainability analytics, environmental compliance and product life-cycle assessment.
