India Identifies Three Ports as Green Hydrogen Hubs

Ports Selected:

  • Deendayal Port, Gujarat
  • Tamil Nadu, V.O. Chidambaranar Port.
  • Paradip Port, Odisha
  • Purpose: Increase green hydrogen manufacturing, storage, transportation, and use; accelerate the achievement of a net-zero target by India by 2070.
  • Target Sectors Shipping, logistics, fertilizers, refining.
  • Strategic Significance: Ports are energy consuming, trade entry points, and also home to heavy industries.
  • Government Support: MNRE guidelines, financial support, cluster based planning, public-private partnership.
  • Outcome: To establish India as a global hub of green hydrogen production and export to support the clean energy ecosystem.
