Indian Army Launches Terrier Cyber Quest 2025

National-Level Cyber Challenge

The Terrier Cyber Quest 2025 is initiated in New Delhi by the Indian Army as a part of its Decade of Transformation. The event organised in collaboration with IIT Madras, the Indian Army Research Cell (IARC), and CyberPeace attracts talent across academia, industry and government to discuss real-world defence and cybersecurity challenges.

Objectives

The program fosters AI, ML, quantum, and drone innovation by indigenous people. It seeks to enhance national security by promoting critical thinking, prototype creation and digital defence strategies.

Competition Tracks

  • Track One - Bug Hunting Challenge: A 36-hour live hackathon on BOSS Linux, where participants uncover OS-level vulnerabilities in a simulated Indian Army environment.
  • Track Two - Datathon: A data-competition based on predictive threat intelligence and anomaly detection based on large-scale data.

Advanced Problem Statements

Frontier problems that will be addressed by the participants include:

  • Drone flight anomaly detection
  • Quantum-enhanced malware and ransomware identification
  • Real-time AI-based detection systems for defence applications

Grand Finale

  • Finalists of the Track One will be engaged in an attack-defence critical infrastructure challenge.
  • Within 36 hours, Track Two finalists will develop a detection system in deepfake that leverages AI/ML.

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi will be used to felicitate winners with contributions made towards the cause of national security and defence technology.

Significance

Located in the case study of Cyber Quest 2025, the Army strives to create an ecosystem of digital warriors, which will prepare India to counter the emerging cyber threats with its own solutions.
