BCCI Postpones India–Bangladesh Women’s White-Ball Tour

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has postponed the Indian women’s team’s upcoming white-ball tour of Bangladesh, which was originally scheduled for December 2025 . The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed receiving formal notification from India and stated that both boards will work together to identify an alternative window for the series.

Delay Linked to Regional Tensions

Although no official reasons were cited, the decision is widely attributed to ongoing geopolitical tensions between India and Bangladesh, which have disrupted sports logistics in recent months. Earlier, India’s men’s limited-overs tour—initially planned for August 2025—was pushed ahead to September 2026 for similar reasons. Cricket authorities have prioritised the safety of players, match officials and staff amid the uncertain regional environment.

Recent India–Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Engagements

India last visited Bangladesh in 2024 , playing a T20I and Test series, where the Women in Blue delivered a dominant performance with wins across formats. The postponed 2025 tour was expected to renew the rivalry with a set of ODIs and T20Is. With the postponement, fans will have to wait for a more stable window to see the two teams face off again.

Upcoming Commitments for India Women

Despite this setback, India’s women’s team has a packed international schedule. They will travel to Australia in February 2026 for a multi-format tour featuring three T20Is, three ODIs and a one-off Test. This will be followed by a T20I series in England in May 2026 , serving as key preparation ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 , which will also be hosted in England.

Officials from both boards have indicated that the tour remains a priority and will be re-slotted once regional conditions stabilise.
