Laser Power and Infra Wins Rs836 Crore Utility Orders Under RDSS

Laser Power & Infra Secures Rs 836 Crore Projects From NTPC, KESCo & Jodhpur Vidyut

Laser Power & Infra Ltd has announced a major business boost with fresh utility contracts worth Rs 836 crore , awarded by NTPC , Kanpur Electric Supply Company Ltd (KESCo) and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (JDVVNL) . The orders fall under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and include supply as well as turnkey execution of distribution infrastructure components.

The scope of work includes the deployment of the company’s in-house manufactured power cables, conductors, control materials and system-strengthening solutions . Of the secured value, Rs 422.11 crore pertains to KESCo , while NTPC awarded Rs 212.06 crore , followed by Rs 202.13 crore from JDVVNL .

Chairman and Managing Director Deepak Goel stated that the company’s strong backward-integrated manufacturing ecosystem gives it a significant cost and reliability advantage. He emphasised that turnkey execution is strategically important as it enables Laser Power & Infra not just to deliver engineering services, but to integrate, install and commission its own technology-grade products on the field.

Company Growth, IPO Plans & Manufacturing Strength

Laser Power & Infra, headquartered in Kolkata and incorporated in 1988 , recently filed papers with SEBI seeking to raise Rs 1,200 crore through an IPO —comprising Rs 800 crore as fresh equity issue and Rs 400 crore via offer for sale . The company currently operates three production units in West Bengal with an annual capacity of 73,100 MT (as of March 31, 2025) .

For FY25, the firm reported ₹2,570 crore revenue with Rs 106 crore profit after tax , indicating strong operational traction ahead of public listing.
