EPFO Introduces Passbook Lite and Online Annexure K Facility to Members

To enhance efficiency, transparency, and convenience of customers, Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has also added two significant digital amenities, which are the Passbook Lite and online Annexure K download. Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced these initiatives on 18 September 2025 .

Passbook Lite

• The prototype of the current passbook portal is simplified.
• Gives an abridged picture of contributions, withdrawals and current balance .
• Seeks to save the burden on the main portal and still be able to access the detailed passbook with graphical representations.
• Increases efficiency and satisfaction of members.

Annexure K Online Access

• The members may now download the annexure K (PF Transfer Certificate) directly in the PDF format through the EPFO portal.
• Previously, this was only distributed among PF offices, and made to members when their requests were made, leading to delays.
• The new feature would provide complete transparency , and the members will be able to:
  • Monitoring PF transfer programs.
  • Verify updated PF balance.
  • Check the new account correct service period.

Minimized Approval Pecking Order.

• EPFO has rationalised its approval structure in order to fasten claims processing.
• Authority has been decentralized in the higher officials to the Assistant P.F Commissioners and the lower levels and this has made the delivery of services quick.

Significance

These reforms cover the long-term challenges such as delays in the process of login synchronisation, the transfer tracking problems, and the absence of transparency. Now, with Passbook Lite and online Annexure K , EPFO expects to offer to its members an easier, quicker and more transparent service.
