National Ayurveda Day 2025 Ayurveda to People and Planet

In 2025, a decade later, the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Goa celebrated the 10th National Ayurveda Day as a result of a decade of work to make Ayurveda a global health and wellness system. It was a milestone celebration as it saw the presence of dignitaries like the Governor and Chief Minister of Goa as well as the Union Ministers. This year was marked with the theme of Ayurveda People Planet and the theme focused on the increased global effects of Ayurveda and its applications in sustainable living.

Ayurveda's Global Reach

Ayurveda over the years has grown way beyond India and is practiced in over 150 countries. Although it was initially regarded as an alternative method of therapy, it is now being viewed as a holistic form of healthcare. The increasing popularity of Ayurveda can be traced in the global celebration of the Ayurveda Day. Accessibility and evidence-based practices are also being forwarded by digital platforms such as NAMASTE portal and Ayush HMIS.

The combination of Tradition and Modern Medicine.

One of the biggest achievements this year is the formation of an Integrative Oncology Unit at AIIA Goa with a collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre. The project is a blend of Ayurvedic knowledge and contemporary oncology to deliver holistic care to patients to enhance treatment outcomes by incorporating healthcare.

Sustainability and Ayurveda.

Ayurveda was closely associated with the theme of planetary well-being. It raised awareness of the conservation of medicinal plants especially in the Western Ghats and coastal ecosystems of Goa. Ayurveda is not only contributing to health, but also to environmental sustainability and local economies by promoting both preservation and commercial cultivation of it.

Prevention of Healthcare in the Contemporary Lifestyles.

Ayurveda is an effective treatment of lifestyle diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, and stress. Preventative care is being adopted through such traditional practices like Dinacharya (daily routines) and Ritucharya (seasonal regimens). Herbal treatments, balanced diets, detoxification, and yoga were also emphasized as the instruments of the long-term well-being.

Community Outreach and Emerging Ventures.

The Desh ka Swasthya Parikshan Abhiyan that involved 1.29 crore citizens and 1.8 lakh volunteers established five Guinness World Records and demonstrated the fundamental mass participation in health checks. New programs were introduced, Ayurvedic innovations published like the DRAVYA portal, academic programs and publications were introduced, strengthening modern use of Ayurveda.

A Vision for the Future

The incident highlighted how Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been on the forefront in ensuring Ayurveda receives international embrace. National Ayurveda Day 2025 reaffirmed the role of Ayurveda in developing a healthier and sustainable future, with a focus on ethical promotion, scientific validation as well as involvement of the younger generation.
