Achievement: Ola Electric was the first Indian two-wheeler EV manufacturer to be certified by the government on its in-house made ferrite motor with no rare-earths.
Significance:
- Fosters Self-Sufficiency: Does away with the use of rare-earth permanent magnet that has to be imported, which is a contingent measure of Eliminating Reliance of Atmanirbhar Bharat in EV production.
- Proven Performance: The motor passed tests on rigorous AIS 041 standard produced by the Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC), Tamil Nadu.
- Technical Validation: The ferrite motor was tested, which proved to have the same performance as conventional rare-earth magnet motors, in its 7 kW and 11 kW models.
2. Reusable Rockets in Agnikul Cosmos.
- News: Agnikul Cosmos Chennai based space startup announced that it would develop fully reusable rockets.
Key Details:
- Mission: To make sure that there is no waste of any component of the rocket, and to provide satellite launch services at competitive prices around the world.
- Background: It was announced during the International Astronautical Congress in Sydney, and it increased the presence of India in the commercial space industry.
- Background: The company has already been able to test its 3D-printed Agnibaan SOrTeD rocket successfully and has several international patents on technologies such as semi-cryogenic propellants.
