Angikaar 2025

The Indian Government launched Angikaar 2025 on 4th September 2025 in New Delhi. The campaign was aimed at accelerating the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0). The campaign gives special emphasis on creating awareness, accelerating application verifications and finishing houses sooner under the scheme. The campaign will be carried out in more than 5,000 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) within a period of two months.

Background and Objectives

The mission targets covering vulnerable segments in the city in a bid to reach housing assistance to the targeted beneficiaries. The campaign also envisages popularizing the Credit Risk Guarantee Fund Trust for Low Income Housing scheme. The second objective is interlinking the benefits under PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli Yojana and the housing assistance under PMAY-U.
