- The 17th GRIHA Summit is set to take place in New Delhi on November 3–4, 2025 , bringing together global leaders, policymakers, and sustainability experts to discuss climate action in India’s built environment. Organised by the GRIHA Council , the summit is themed “Innovate to Act for a Climate Resilient World” , focusing on driving practical solutions through innovation, collaboration, and policy interventions.
Summit Agenda and Key Themes
- The two-day summit will feature four plenary and four technical sessions , complemented by three innovation-focused exhibition pavilions . Discussions will cover resilient infrastructure, sustainable construction, energy efficiency, and circular economy practices , aiming to build cities that can withstand climate-related challenges. The technical deliberations will emphasise low-carbon transitions, water security, air quality improvement, and use of sustainable materials in urban development.
Distinguished Speakers and Delegates
- Over 50 national and international experts are expected to participate. Key speakers include Srinivas Katikithala , Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs; May-Elin Stener , Ambassador of Norway; Ashish Khanna , Director General of the International Solar Alliance; and Sanjay Kulshrestha , CMD of HUDCO. Actor Gulshan Grover will grace the valedictory session as Guest of Honour. Vibha Dhawan , Director General of TERI and President of the GRIHA Council, highlighted that innovation and circularity should define sustainable urban growth.
Focus on Action and Implementation
- Sanjay Seth, Vice President and CEO of the GRIHA Council, stressed that climate action must move from intent to implementation . Sessions will explore inclusive frameworks, low-carbon technologies, climate education, and resilient community models , bridging policy and practice for urban sustainability.
Innovations and Recognitions
- The summit will host the Nirmaan Exhibition , showcasing technologies such as Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) facades . A new publication, “GRIHA Infrastructure Rating for Metro Stations” , will be launched in collaboration with BMRCL. Additionally, the GRIHA Awards Ceremony will honour exemplary 4-Star and 5-Star projects , and a pre-summit Green Building Tour at Uttarakhand Niwas will demonstrate practical models of sustainable architecture.
