Over 1,300 Missing Persons Traced in a Year

The Delhi Police have traced as many as 1,303 missing persons in the southwest district over the past year under Operation Milap . The traced individuals include 434 children and 869 adults, reflecting sustained district-level efforts to reunite families and reinforce public confidence in law enforcement. Focused action continued through December 2025, adding to the overall success of the initiative.

December 2025 Performance Highlights

In December alone, police teams traced 102 missing persons, comprising 35 children and 67 adults. Officials said the steady results demonstrate consistent follow-up, systematic investigation, and close coordination among police stations. Operation Milap operates through dedicated teams that prioritise vulnerable cases, particularly missing children, while maintaining momentum across adult cases as well.

Use of Local Intelligence and Public Outreach

According to DCP (Southwest) Amit Goel, local informers and verification of records at hospitals and police stations played a critical role. Police also displayed photographs of missing persons at high-footfall locations such as bus terminals, railway stations, auto stands and e-rickshaw points. This visibility helped generate leads from commuters, transport workers and residents, strengthening community participation in policing.

Police Station-Wise Contribution

Data from December shows that Kapashera, Sagarpur and Palam Village police stations traced the highest number of missing children. Kapashera traced 12 children, all girls, followed by Sagarpur with eight and Palam Village with four. In adult cases, Sagarpur police traced the most with 16 recoveries, followed by Kapashera, Palam Village and Vasant Kunj South.
