Exercise Siyom Prahar-Indian Army Evaluates Drone Warfare in Arunachal Pradesh

In Arunachal Pradesh, on 8 to 10 September 2025, the Indian Army organized Exercise Siyom Prahar, aimed at bringing together drones in modern tactics. The exercise was held under realistic conditions on the battlefield and underpinned the emerging importance of unmanned aerial systems to improve combat preparedness.

Objectives

The drill was designed to come up with new tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) to be used in the battlefields in future. It experimented with ways to integrate drones with traditional forces without disruption to enhance decision-making, targeting and general operational performance.

Role of Drones

The drones were used in surveillance, reconnaissance, target acquisition and precision attacks. As they showed, the exercise of constant air surveillance and targeting on the right side of the battle can serve as significant force multipliers.

Cooperation with Conventional Forces.

One of the main characteristics of Siyom Prahar was the integration of drones and artillery, infantry and fire support forces. In the sphere of the joint targeting, the processes were perfected, and the strikes became much faster and more precise and there was an enhanced coordination of the activities of the traditional and modern systems.

Operational Preparedness

The drill was a test of adaptability to the conditions of the battlefield fluid, which confirms the new operational ideas to respond and be flexible faster. It reiterated the attempts of the Army to be on the forefront of military innovation.

Future Implications

Siyom Prahar emphasized the role of drone warfare in the contemporary warfare. The lessons learned during the exercise will inform future training and doctrine to make the Indian Army better suited to deal with future security challenges.
