The celebrated actor, known for his warmth, humility and remarkable versatility, breathed his last at his Mumbai residence after a brief period of illness, bringing down the curtain on a career that shaped the golden era of Hindi film history.

Industry Mourns the Loss of a Legend

Dharmendra had recently returned home after undergoing treatment at a Mumbai hospital. On 24 November, an ambulance leaving his residence signalled the heartbreaking news that soon spread across the industry. Several Bollywood personalities rushed to Juhu to pay their respects. Filmmaker Karan Johar confirmed his demise, calling him an irreplaceable presence whose affection and generosity touched everyone who knew him.

Spanning over 300 films , Dharmendra’s body of work reflected extraordinary range — from heartfelt romance and situational comedy to intense action roles. He remained a dependable leading man from the 1960s through the late 1980s. His final on-screen appearance will be in “Ikkis” , set to release in December 2025, which will serve as a posthumous tribute to his illustrious career.
