Nadella noted that India is on course to become the largest GitHub developer community in the world by 2030 , reflecting the scale of technical talent and innovation emerging from the country. He described Bengaluru as a major nerve centre of AI experimentation and deployment. Microsoft, he said, is transforming GitHub into an “ Agent HQ ,” a unified platform where multiple AI agents can be created, coordinated, and deployed across development and enterprise environments.

Emphasising a shift in mindset, Nadella stated that agentic AI demands a rethinking of the traditional software development life cycle. He explained that the future lies in an AI-driven SDLC , where intelligent agents assist developers across coding, testing, deployment, and optimisation. This approach allows builders to delegate complex workflows to AI systems, accelerating innovation and improving productivity.

Major Investment in AI Infrastructure

Reaffirming Microsoft’s long-term commitment, Nadella highlighted the company’s $17.5 billion investment in India , its largest in Asia. The investment will focus on strengthening AI and digital infrastructure, enabling organisations to scale AI adoption while improving efficiency, customer experience, and workforce productivity.

Cybersecurity and Agent Factories

Nadella also stressed the importance of cyber resilience, noting that AI security relies on global threat intelligence. Microsoft processes trillions of security signals daily across its platforms. He outlined the concept of “agent factories” under Microsoft’s IQ framework, enabling enterprises to build and manage task-specific AI agents.
