National Affairs

  • Lucknow has been officially recognised as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy , highlighting its famous Awadhi cuisine and rich culinary heritage.

  • Five Indian states — Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh — celebrated their State Formation Day on November 1 .

  • Union Minister George Kurian launched the household enumeration phase of the National Marine Fisheries Census (MFC) 2025 at CMFRI, Kochi .

  • Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) under NESTS, Ministry of Tribal Affairs , began observing Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada (1–15 Nov 2025) to honour tribal heritage.

  • The Sahitya Akademi released the Hindi translation of the Lithuanian novel “The Last Day” titled “Antim Din” , in collaboration with the Embassy of Lithuania .

  • The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) achieved three Guinness World Records™ under the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ , recognizing India’s success in women-centric and digital healthcare.

  • Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the CGST Bhawan at Ghaziabad .

  • Raj Kumar Arora (IDAS, 1990 batch) assumed charge as Financial Advisor (Defence Services) .

  • Vishvajit Sahay (IDAS, 1990 batch) became the new Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) .

  • Dr. Deepak Mittal assumed charge as Ambassador-Designate of India to the UAE .

  • Vemagal (Kolar district, Karnataka) was chosen for Airbus-TASL’s H125 helicopter Final Assembly Line (FAL) — India’s first private-sector helicopter manufacturing site.

  • Pravaig Dynamics , Bengaluru, unveiled ‘Pravaig VEER EV’ , India’s first indigenously developed electric military vehicle .

  • AICTE signed an agreement with IBM to set up an Artificial Intelligence Lab at its headquarters.

  • India and the United States signed the Framework for the US–India Major Defence Partnership 2025 in Kuala Lumpur , strengthening defence cooperation.

  • India will host three major maritime events — International Fleet Review (IFR) 2026 , Exercise MILAN 2026 , and IONS Conclave of Chiefs — in Visakhapatnam (15–25 Feb 2026) .

  • China launched the Shenzhou-21 spacecraft from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre , marking progress in its space programme.
