-      Union Minister for Labour and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya  will represent India at the  Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD-2)  , taking place in  Doha, Qatar, from 4–6 November 2025  . The summit, nearly 30 years after the 1995 Copenhagen Summit, aims to  reaffirm global commitment  to eradicating poverty, promoting decent work, and advancing social inclusion.

      India’s National Statement and Global Role     
 
  
	 -     Mandaviya will deliver  India’s National Statement  during the  Opening Plenary  , highlighting the nation’s progress in  social protection, poverty reduction, and inclusive growth  . He will also participate in adopting the  Doha Political Declaration  and join a  high-level roundtable  on the three pillars of social development —  poverty eradication, full employment, and social inclusion  .    
  
 
 
 
 
      Showcasing India’s Poverty Reduction and Welfare Reforms     
 
  
	 -     Between  2011 and 2023  , India lifted  248 million people out of multidimensional poverty  , reducing the national poverty rate to  2.3% (2022–23)  . Flagship schemes like  Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana  ,  PM Awas Yojana  , and  Jan Dhan Yojana  have been instrumental in achieving this milestone. The  JAM Trinity (Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, and Mobile)  has enhanced  transparency and efficiency  in welfare delivery.    
  
 
 
 
 
      Expanding Social Protection and Labour Inclusion     
 
  
	 -     India’s  social protection coverage  increased from  19% in 2015 to 64.3% in 2025  , benefiting  over 940 million citizens  , as verified by the  International Labour Organisation (ILO)  . The model’s success in  labour welfare, social insurance, and direct cash transfers  has positioned India as a  leader in inclusive development  among emerging economies.
