September 2025, Gurugram - INS Aravali , a new shore-based setup in Gurugram, was commissioned by the Indian Navy to enhance command-and-control, information warfare, and maritime domain awareness. The base is strategically positioned in the National Capital Region (NCR) to ensure real-time coordination and technological cooperation in the naval and allied networks.
Strategic Location and Role
- INS Aravali is a strategic center on the information and communication backup of the Navy, which is located in Gurugram .
- It incorporates Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) centres with the naval forces and other partner institutions to enhance Indian capability to monitor and uphold maritime interests.
- The base is resilient to operational level command, control, communications, and intelligence (C3I) functions.
Commissioning Ceremony

The ceremony was presided over by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi with a 50-men Guard of Honour and an Sanskrit invocation.
- The unveiling of the commissioning plaque was done by Shashi Tripathi , the President of the Navy Wives Welfare Association.
- The first Commanding Officer of the base was Captain Sachin Kumar Singh .
Symbolism and Vision

The base is called Aravali after the mountain range and represents caution, perseverance and foresight .
- It has mountains on the crest, and a rising sun, the presence of which signifies strength and technological progress.
- The motto, Maritime Security through Collaboration highlights its importance on partnering.
