- The third edition of the International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH-2025) has commenced in New Delhi on November 11–12, 2025 , organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) . The two-day global event brings together policymakers, scientists, and industry leaders to discuss strategies for developing a sustainable and self-reliant green hydrogen ecosystem in India .
Focus on Green Hydrogen Development
ICGH-2025 aims to chart India’s roadmap toward net-zero emissions by promoting green hydrogen as a clean, scalable, and export-oriented energy solution. The conference features plenary sessions, expert panels, and technical discussions focused on:
-
Expanding hydrogen production and storage capacity,
-
Integrating hydrogen into industrial and transport sectors,
-
Building supply chains and electrolyser manufacturing infrastructure, and
-
Attracting investment for large-scale clean energy projects.
Discussions also cover financing mechanisms, international collaboration, and innovation-led growth in India’s hydrogen economy.
India’s Renewable Energy Milestones
The conference coincides with India’s record progress in renewable energy capacity. During the first half of FY 2025–26 , the country added:
-
3,089 MW of wind energy , the highest in recent years, and
-
21,686 MW of solar power , bringing the total installed solar capacity to 1,27,332 MW as of September 2025.
These milestones strengthen India’s transition toward energy independence and complement its long-term goal of producing 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030 under the National Green Hydrogen Mission .
Global and Domestic Collaboration
ICGH-2025 promotes international cooperation by aligning India’s efforts with global hydrogen best practices . The event encourages partnerships in research, electrolyser manufacturing, hydrogen storage, and mobility technologies . The conference also seeks to position India as a major exporter of green hydrogen and related technologies in the Asia-Pacific region.
