Inno-Yoddha 2025: Indian Army Showcases Soldier-Driven Innovations in New Delhi
The Indian Army hosted Inno-Yoddha 2025 , its annual Idea and Innovation Competition and Seminar, at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi in the presence of the Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Pushpendra Pal Singh . The event reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to empowering soldiers to develop indigenous, field-ready solutions that address operational, logistical and training challenges.
Platform for Ground-Level Innovation
Inno-Yoddha serves as a key channel for soldiers to convert battlefield experience into deployable technologies. Operating across glaciers, deserts, mountains and counter-insurgency zones, Army personnel often identify gaps where simple yet effective innovations can dramatically enhance mission outcomes. The platform nurtures this ingenuity, promoting a culture of experimentation and problem-solving aligned with Atmanirbhar Bharat .
Innovation Ecosystem: Achievements So Far
Over the past five years, the Army has shortlisted 117 ideas , of which 47 have been successfully productised and nine prototypes are currently under evaluation. The initiative has also generated 30 Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) . Five innovations have already been transferred to industry, with Exploder, Agniastra, Vidyut Rakshak, Baaz Attack Dronee , and a Multi-purpose Octacopter receiving Transfer of Technology (ToT) on 5 December 2025.
Highlights of the 2025–26 Edition
The latest cycle, held between November and December 2025, received 89 entries from across arms and services. After detailed assessment, 32 innovations were selected for further development and were felicitated by the VCOAS. These prototypes will undergo ruggedisation, refinement and potential IPR processing before moving toward industrial-scale adoption.
