Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will lead the Indian Under-19 side on the South Africa tour , which comprises a three-match One-Day series . Aaron George has been named vice-captain for the tour. For the Under-19 World Cup 2026 , the selectors have entrusted leadership to Ayush Mhatre , with Vihaan Malhotra appointed as vice-captain. Injury Concerns and Rehabilitation

Ayush Mhatre and Vihaan Malhotra will miss the South Africa tour due to wrist injuries. Both players have been directed to report to the BCCI Centre of Excellence for treatment and rehabilitation. Under-19 World Cup 2026 Outlook

The ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup 2026 will be co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia from 15 January to 6 February 2026 , with the final to be played in Harare . India are placed in Group B alongside New Zealand, Bangladesh and the USA . Their campaign begins against the USA on 15 January at Bulawayo, followed by matches against Bangladesh (17 January) and New Zealand (24 January) .
