Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, introduced the Civil Registration System (CRS) smartphone app. This project seeks to combine government with technology. By facilitating birth and death registration, the app makes the procedure simple and convenient. The official language of their state may be used for registration at any time and from any place.
CRS Mobile Application Utility and Law
- The CRS mobile application enhances simple registration for some critical events, such as births and deaths.
- The launch comes in synergy with the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act of 2023, which seeks to regulate digital registration of births and deaths starting on October 1, 2023.
- Using a digital birth certificate as an outcome of the system solves the identification of the date of birth required in different service deliveries.
- The CRS will also maintain the Computerized National Register of births and deaths for ease of updating the National Population Register.
- The NPR, started in 2010, is useful for the authoritative regulation of the data referring to citizens and for the fulfillment of the other governmental tasks.
- In view of the above observations, the availability and use of the CRS mobile application is therefore a complete revolution in governance.
- It is believed that there will be other improvements in digital governance since the CRS system will take its course.
