Bloom Syndrome is a very rare disease that is autosomal recessive and has a few instances of occurrence overall in the world, with its total being under 300 cases. It is due to mutations in BLM gene that is important in repair of the DNA. This disability causes genome instability, which causes high predisposition to cancer and other health complications.

On 24 August 2025, the Indian launch vehicle ISRO (ISRO) successfully conducted the first Integrated Air Drop Test (IADT-1), which was deemed to be a success to India Gaganyaan human spaceflight programme. The test confirmed the parachute system that was aimed to slow the crew capsule and land the astronauts back to Earth.

Very recent studies have shown a strong deceleration of the Arctic sea ice loss rate in recent decades (since 1990). Scientists warn that this slowdown is short-term and is the result of a natural climate cycle and does not indicate a stoppage to longer term human-induced warming.
