Rare Keelback Snakes Documented in Northeast India

Researchers from the Wildlife Institute of India have recorded two uncommon keelback snake species in Northeast India. The Rakhine Keelback ( Herpetoreas davidi ) was observed in Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary, while the Kachin Hills Keelback ( Hebius gilhodesi ) was identified in Namdapha National Park and Kamlang Tiger Reserve. These findings underline the exceptional biodiversity of the northeastern region.
