- China has also rolled out the CR450 the fastest high-speed train in the world with a record speed of 453 km/h when tested. It is projected to be commercially adventurous in 2026 with a velocity of 400 km/h.
Key Features:
- Top speed: Achieved 453 km/h in one of the trials along the Shanghai-Chengdu line.
- Rapid Acceleration: It can accelerate within a short span of 4 minutes and 40 seconds up to 350 km/h a hundred seconds quicker than the CR400 Fuxing which it replaced.
- Advanced Design: It has more aerodynamic features, long nose cone (15 meters), lower noise and better energy consumption.
Significance:
- CR450 consolidates the leadership of China in high-speed rail that has already a largest network in the world (more than 45,000 km). The construction is a new world standard in speed and technology in rail transport.
