PM Modi Receives Norway Highest Civilian Honour

Overview

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received Norway's top civilian honour. It is called the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit. He got this award on 18th May during his visit to Oslo. This is his 32nd international award. It shows how strong India's friendship with European countries has become. Just one day earlier, Sweden also honoured him. This was PM Modi's first visit to Norway in 43 years.

West Bengal Approves Free Bus Travel and Rs3,000 Monthly Aid for Women

On 18 May 2026, the West Bengal government approved two big schemes for women. The first is free bus travel on all state-run buses. Anaimangalam Copper Plates-Leiden Plates-Come Back Home After 300 Years

They were handed over during the Prime Minister’s recent visit to the Netherlands. The plates belong to the Chola Empire.
