Overview
India has shown the first proposed design of its Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train. This high-speed train will run at 320 km per hour. It will cut travel time between the two cities to just two hours. The train will have 12 stations. The first phase will run between Surat and Bilimora. The target launch date is 15 August 2027. This will be India's first dedicated bullet train corridor.
First Look of India’s Bullet Train
The Ministry of Railways has revealed the first proposed design of the bullet train. People can see the display at Gate Number 4 of the Ministry’s building in New Delhi. This is the first official visual look at the train. But the design is still a proposed concept. It may get some changes before the final version is ready.
Speed and Train Features
The bullet train is built for speed, comfort, and ease of passengers. It will have 8 coaches in the beginning. The top speed will be 320 kilometres per hour. This will make it the fastest train service in India. It will offer travel efficiency similar to flying on an aeroplane.
Mumbai to Ahmedabad in Just 2 Hours
The best part of this project is the huge saving in travel time. Once the train starts running, passengers will go from Mumbai to Ahmedabad in about two hours. Right now, normal trains take much longer on this route. The bullet train will help people travelling for business or holidays. The total distance of the corridor is 508 kilometres. It will connect Maharashtra and Gujarat through a modern high-speed network.
