Indeed, the Mahendragiri Hills of Odisha which is a Biodiversity Heritage Site are threatened by the construction tourism projects. To preserve ecology and culture of the tribe activists are demanding biosphere reserve status.

Mahendragiri Hills in Odishi state are some of the most valuable ecological zones in India wherein, expansive construction initiatives are posing increasingly severe threats. Although it was proclaimed a Biodiversity Heritage Site in 2022, recent government-portioned tourism plans have raised concerns by conservationists which have alerted that this sensitive eco-system would be facing permanent damages.

Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show was inaugurated

PM Modi has opened up the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2025 in Greater Noida. The event, which has 2,400 exhibitors, will increase investment, employment, and development of the region with Russia being the partner country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2025 (UPITS-2025) at Greater Noida and the region was set to host one of the biggest trade shows. The mega event which will take place between 25 and 29 September showcases the increasing industrial prowess of Uttar Pradesh and its goal of being a prime investment destination.

Global Food Regulators Summit 2025 Promotes Global Food Safety

The Global Food Regulators Summit 2025 held in New Delhi by FSSAI focused on collaboration on food safety issues worldwide, safer food systems and India as the lead country in developing food safety standards.

GFRS 2025, the Global Food Regulators Summit which took place in New Delhi on 26-27 September, has strengthened the significance of international cooperation in promoting safer food systems. The summit was organised by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and was aligned with World Food India 2025, and it involved regulators, scientists and policymakers all over the world.

IUCN sits well with the Dugong Sanctuary in Palk bay in India

Introduction

The Dugong Conservation Reserve in Palk Bay in India has been granted acknowledgement by the international conservation conservatory, the Froenrichszoulde Statsaton (IUCN). The IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi voted in favour of the resolution using vast majority of the participants who are governments, NGOs and research organisations. This achievement makes the initiative at Tamil Nadu an example in marine conservation and protection of dugongs all over the world.

India develops a Forest Environmental Accounting with SEEA Framework by 2025

Introduction

The 8 th issue of the Environmental Accounting on Forest was released on 25th September 2025 by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) and it became the first step taken to ensure that ecological wealth becomes a part of economic planning. Published on the occasion of the 29th Conference of Central and State Statistical Organizations (CoCSSO) in Chandigarh this is the first forest accounting report to be in full compliance with the UN System of Environmental Economic Accounts (SEEA) framework.
