• NITI Aayog has released two key reports under its Services Thematic Series, highlighting the sector’s growing role in India’s economy and employment landscape. The reports were launched by B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog, along with Dr. Arvind Virmani and Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran.

• The Global Firepower (GFP) Index 2025 ranks the world’s strongest militaries based on over 60 parameters, including manpower, defence spending, logistics, and technology. A lower Power Index (PwrIndx) score reflects greater overall capability and modernisation.

• A proposal to redefine the boundaries of the Changthang and Karakoram wildlife sanctuaries in Ladakh has been submitted for final clearance by the Central government. The move aims to balance ecological protection with strategic and livelihood needs in the border region.

The Ministry of Coal will launch “Koyla Shakti”, a Smart Coal Analytics Dashboard, on October 29, 2025, in New Delhi. Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy will inaugurate the platform, which aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and digital governance in India’s coal sector under the Digital India initiative.

• The Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) has unveiled a major reform package to modernize rehabilitation education, improve transparency, and strengthen professional governance. The initiatives align with the Government of India’s Jan Vishwas and Ease of Doing Business frameworks, emphasizing digitalisation, inclusivity, and self-reliance.
