Onkalo Repository in Finland: Nuclear Waste Breakthrough.

Overview

Finland will be opening the first permanent deep geological repository in the world of high-level nuclear waste at Onkalo, on the Olkiluoto Island. The project is a significant technological and environmental breakthrough in solving the long-standing problem of radioactive waste disposal, since it is designed to hold spent nuclear fuel in a safe location, which may last up to 100,000 years.

English Language Day 2026: A Global Bridge of Communication.

English Language Day is celebrated on April 23 each year; this day was selected to celebrate William Shakespeare whose birth and death anniversary are on the same day. Shekha Jheel Declared India’s 99th Ramsar Site: Boost to Wetland Conservation

Shekha Jheel Bird Sanctuary has been listed as the 99th Ramsar site in India which is a great milestone in the conservation of wetlands. Bhupender Yadav announced this. It has led to the creation of 12 Ramsar sites in Uttar Pradesh, the largest in Indian states.
