Each laureate receives a gold medal, a citation, and USD 1,00,000. Maharashtra Tops 6th National Water Awards 2024

 

  • Maharashtra has been declared the best-performing state in water conservation and management at the 6th National Water Awards 2024, organised by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti. The announcement recognises Maharashtra’s exemplary work in promoting sustainable water resource management, efficient irrigation, and community-driven watershed projects. The awards ceremony will be held in New Delhi on 18 November 2025, where President Droupadi Murmu will present the honours to the winners.

India and Nepal Resume Border Talks After Gen-Z Protests Toppled Oli Government

 

  • India and Nepal have resumed high-level border coordination talks for the first time since the Gen-Z-led protests in Nepal that resulted in the collapse of the K.P. India Improves Rank in Global Climate Risk Index 2025

 

  • India has shown measurable progress in climate resilience, improving its position in the Global Climate Risk Index (CRI) 2025 released by Germanwatch. The report, presented during the UN Climate Summit (COP30) in Belem, Brazil, ranked India 9th in the long-term index (1995–2024) and 15th in the 2024 annual index, marking an improvement from last year’s 8th and 10th positions respectively.
