Military Combat Parachute System Maximum 32,000-Foot Combat Jump

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed the Military Combat Parachute System (MCPS) which has successfully made a combat freefall jump of 32,000 feet the highest ever recorded by an indigenous parachute system. This is the first feat to be performed by Indian Air Force test jumpers and the feat has brought significant progress to the airborne operational capabilities of India.

Sundarbans Aquaculture Model Wins FAO Global Award

The Nature Environment and Wildlife Society (NEWS) from West Bengal’s Sundarbans has received Global Technical Recognition from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. The award was presented on 15 October 2025 during FAO’s 80th Anniversary Celebrations and the World Food Forum in Rome, Italy. The recognition honours the innovative Sustainable Aquaculture in Mangrove Ecosystems (SAIME) model developed by NEWS.

35th National Energy Conservation Awards 2025 Announced

In 2025 the 35 th National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) will be announced by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) within the Ministry of Power. On 14 December 2025, which will be celebrated as the National Energy Conservation Day, the awards will be given at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, will be honored with the ceremony. Achievement of the awards is a recognition of excellent work in energy efficiency, conservation and sustainable practices in India.

FICCI President-Elect Anant Goenka Appointed FICCI President-Elect

  • Anant Goenka, who is a Vice Chairman of the RPG Group, has been made the President-Elect of FICCI in 2025-26.
  • He will be replacing the current President, Harsha Vardhan Agarwal of Emami Group.

IIHL Purchases 100 percent of the stock of Sterling Bank Bahamas

  • IndusInd bank of Mauritius, which is promoted by IIHL Mauritius, has purchased 100 per cent of the shares in the Sterling Bank in the Bahamas under its subsidiary.
  • It used to own a majority of 51% since 2022.
